Well, yes and no. If you want to create Forests, like the ones included in this product, then YES, you should consider Forest Pack Pro from iToosoft, because it´s the most advanced scattering plugin for 3ds Max on the market. There are alternatives for scattering, like Multiscatter, or even the integrated Particle Flow together with the new vray instancer feature in vray 3.0 or Corona scatter within Corona itself. But the easiest and fastest solution to create large scale forests with many trees really is Forest Pack Pro. NO, you don´t need Forest Pack Pro, if you want to place trees individually in your scene, in a garden, on a street or other defined places which do not require hundreds or thousands of trees.

I bought Real Trees for the use with Forest Pack and it is wonderful. The implentation is very easy and the quality is deluxe. I also love the chance of switching the render engines in forest pack and all material libraries are also delivered and implemented by vizpark. So i don´t have any hustle to render in vray or maxwell.
Just switch the renderengine in forest pack when i import the real trees and everything is fine really nice and timesaving ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post? Thanks for letting us know. Real trees are nicely detailed trees with high resolution texture maps.
I also like that the vray shaders are setup double sided. I have purchased many good plant models over the years and I can honestly say that these are the best. I also consider it incredible advantage to be able to buy the growFX version (what I bought). Thank you VIZPARK. ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post?

For this GrowFX is required, as stated in the description. You probably selected the “3Ds Max” version and not the “GrowFX” version during checkout, so you don´t have the GrowFX files.
You can upgrade to the GrowFX version though if you like. Just end us a support ticket and I´ll respond directly. ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post? Thanks for letting us know.

I’m reading in the Real Trees product description that there is a need for Forest Pack Pro. I realize FPP is needed to animate wind movement with the VizPark plant libraries.
But can the assets be used (as static entities in my 3ds Max/Vray scenes) without Forest Pack Pro? Additionally, I would assume there is a need to create instances of these assets for scenes containing high counts of them. Are assets instanced from within the VizPark 3ds Max plugin or by some other method?

Flag for removal. Hi Michael, you don´t require Forest Pack Pro to use the trees, since you can place trees manually into your scene or paint them with script paint tools or the integrated paint tool in 3ds Max. If you want to scatter large numbers of trees like in our Forest examples, it´s highly recommended to use Forest Pack Pro or similar scattering plugins or tools.

Corona has a tool called Corona scatter, and there are other methods, but Forest Pack Pro is the most efficient and flexible tool for such kind of work. Animation is not directly related to Forest Pack Pro but GrowFX. If you want to animate wind or growth with the trees, you would need the plugin “GrowFX” from Exlevel and the GrowFX version of Real Trees. This version includes procedural models for GrowFX which can be further modified, while the standard 3ds Max version only includes collapsed meshes that cannot be modified further (unless you change the mesh itself). Hope this helps. Best regards, Martin ( 1) ( 0) Something wrong with this post? Thanks for letting us know.

As a stickler for optimized materials, I was also happy to see that the render times for a very, very dense scene was quite fast (2560×1440 in 40 minutes) and the quality of the visuals was exquisite. I’m very happy with my purchase and can’t wait to see more botanical models from Vizpark. ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post?

I have been comparing all the vegetation collections for 3ds Max / V-Ray and finally settled on RealTrees / Plants / Grass and I am pleased with the result.
The ease of use is absolute and the visual quality is definitely there. Know that in a lot of V-Ray materiels, in Options, the “Trace reflections” is disabled. ( 1) ( 0) Something wrong with this post? Thanks for letting us know.

Excellent product. The tree models have excellent detail. Have not checked the materials in detail but a suggestion if the forest pack leaf materials could be set up with the forest color bitmap for extra variation, would make it really outstanding.
That said the level of detail and the trees are really Outstanding. A must buy for everyone looking to up the level of reality in their renders. Works seamlessly with Forest pack. All in all well worth many times more than the money spent.

I bought the product mainly for conifer trees, pines especially, realy good looking ones in this collection Tested briefly, the growFX presets are great for creating variations, so this library could easily be boosted to unlimited one with growFX plugin I am looking forward to use it in production, along with forest presets and growFX, I think I am covered with trees for some time ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post? Real Trees are so nice and fully integrated (more simple ever!)in FPP and the presets don’t need to be modified. I work with Corona and VRay and there is really no problem to toggle from one to other. Thanks Martin for this wonderful product, and for your quick answers! ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post? The only sort of negative comment is in regards to the separate files set up for each renderer. I don’t have Vray and it seems that the mental ray and corona preset files still are set up for Vray. It’s not a big deal. It’s just always telling me that I’m missing the dll files when I open them. Other than that, there is very little setup required to get these plants in your scene and looking good. ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post?

I’ve given a try to those right after purchase today. They are truly fantastic. Apart from 1 bark/leaf textures that I already swapped the package is perfect. I bought the growfx version and i suggest you all to do that as it gives you in fact an unlimited amount of variations within those presets/tree species. ( 0) ( 0) Something wrong with this post?
